Monday of this week started out just like any other day.  Little did I know, a short 3 hours after beginning my day, the unthinkable would occur.  I often think, is today the day?   Well yesterday was the day.  One of our local high schools, in our county, received a credible active shooter threat and emergency services jumped into action.  As the lead PIO, I coordinated public information briefings, social media posts, and served as the liaison to the school superintendent.

Listen as I discuss the timeline of events, from the initial dispatch to the final press release issued last night and all social media posts in between.  Our job is all about, getting the right information, to the right people at the right time.  For yesterday's response, the right people consisted of the parents, faculty, media and concerned citizens from the community.
