We just came through an election, the results of which are a blessing to most Christians. However, our hope is not in a king, but rather the King of kings. It appears that God in His mercy has extended to His church some time in which to really work hard at prayer, evangelism, and discipleship. The heart of the matter is the heart of man. His sinful heart - and from that flows the issues of life. Yes, we should stay engaged in culture and continue to be salt and light. But without God miraculously changing people's hearts to love Him and in response, obey His righteous laws, there are no political results which can save our wicked nation. We must bow before the Lord, and repent of our sins. We must evangelize the lost. We must disciple the nations, starting right where we live.
