We are always trying to get free of our problems, but really, you cannot free yourself from the troubles of life. As the old spiritual says: "There's no hiding place down here!" Our guest points out that while we have had troubles for a long time, the current state of things is that politics has become a "blood sport." This anxiety and dissatisfaction is pervasive. It seems to be present more often, among young women. For many of us, there was a rude awakening, especially during the whole COVID experience. We learned that major news sources often cannot be trusted. We also learned to question the medical community. Our people have been awakened. We were gas lit. Our former president was in very bad shape, while the major news outlets lied to us. The Russia gate as it turns out, was a total fabrication. In the midst of all this, we are seeing a sort of spiritual awakening going on. This is precious. Among young men, especially, we are seeing many of these young men become interested in Christ. And this is happening in many places around the world. We touch upon the dreams that are occurring in the Muslim world - these are dreams of Jesus. They have a dream and then seek out a fellow convert and start getting fed. It's an amazing thing. So, the theme in this interview that develops as we talk, is the idea of this world being very messy, and yet, we can definitely have real peace in the midst of the storms of life. Christ can bring a quietness and peace to your heart. Our guest mentions this verse: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3 He quotes this every day to maintain mental health and perspective. Our guest also mentions the "Jesus Prayer," which says in part: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me," - this has brought our guest much solace. It re-centers our mind where it is supposed to be. Participants: Dr. John Vance, Dan Elmendorf
