Today we review the account of a demon possessed man who encountered Jesus. This man was a loner, living among the tombs in a cemetery. Everything about him was considered unclean by the Jews. He lived among pig herders. His home in the cemetery was also considered unclean. This demon possessed man had exceptional strength and he was very self-destructive. His case was apparently the worst of the cases of demon possession in the Bible. He runs up to Jesus, and he says that he knows who He is. The man tells Jesus that his name is "Legion." This reminds us of the Roman legions - and implies that the man had a great number of demons that possessed him.
