Does the visible church have its own isolated, separate existence from other earthly affairs? We have heard that the Christian is to be in the world but not of the world. This is true, but what happens when the pendulum swings in the direction of the Christian and his church simply withdrawing from the world altogether? What about the Lordship of Christ? Is there any area of life over which He is NOT Lord? The Westminster Confession of Faith tells us that it is lawful for Christians, for example, to accept and execute the office of a magistrate, when called to that work. What about the rather new movement of so-called "Two Kingdom" folks? Today we talk with the J.D. Trimble Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy of Reformed Theological Seminary.
