As the digital landscape evolves, so does the way we consume content. Tara shares her experiences in adapting podcasts to include video, catering to the preferences of younger audiences and promoting safer digital practices.

By positioning the video feed to capture guests’ faces, we aim to create a more engaging and relatable experience for the audience.

But it is difficult to try to give the person you are speaking to eye-to-eye contact to show you are giving them your full attention. Who is more important? In this case, we consider how video podcasts are also a tool for education. Take Safe Passages as an example: by focusing on the camera, we hope to teach audiences about safe digital practices and media consumption. This dual focus on engagement and education highlights the potential of video podcasts to influence and inform.

The way technology and our digital habits have changed our invitational habits has evolved. The next time you have a virtual meeting or recording, consider what your intention and presence are all about.
