Research suggests that it is important for adults to foster the development of executive function of children at an early age. This is because the development of the brain is most easily influenced by the environment during the early years of life (0-5) before the brain has fully matured. When adults work together to create environments and interactions that promote the development of executive skills, we see positive changes in the behavior and out- comes of young children in school, at home, and in life.
