Hello, my name is Maria E. White, and I am the author of Chosen Vessels Pray with Purpose and Passion. Welcome to my Chosen Vessels Pray Podcast!
In this episode, we will focus on God's Word from Psalm 88 (NKJV and English Standard Version). We will use God's Word to guide us through life's issues throughout our time together, one conversation or episode at a time.
The focus of today's discussion is on Psalm 88 verses that have spoken to me since we last met. 1 Peter 5:7 instructs us to "cast all our anxieties on Him, for He cares for us." For me, this has been a Rhema word. This Teaching Thursday was very beneficial for me and the Chosen Vessels that gathered with me at 3:00 p.m. loved today's discussion. We discussed our faith in Jesus and how we might pray and "P.U.S.H. Forward." God's ability to help us in a time of crisis or when our emotions are at an all-time high may be relied upon regardless of the circumstances. We listened to "Okay," a new song by Naomi Raine, and it really touched our hearts because it was so relevant to Psalm 88.
Chosen Vessels Have you ever felt hopeless and unsure of how you came to be that way? Have you ever questioned how this emotional attitude kept you in a frenzy and why you seemed to be on a roller coaster, feeling lost one minute, joy the next, anxiety the next, and even a dull pain? You are not alone, however. I have felt similarly. Change is inevitable in life, thus you must maintain optimism and P.U.S.H. forward. If you recall, last week we discussed "Pursuing Hope." Today, we will continue discussing hope and the necessity to P.U.S.H. forward.
This biblical narrative gives each of us hope that God's Word will not be ineffective. Take a stand on God's promises and forge forth. Take a selah (stop) and cling to God's Word, just as Brother Heman did, and cry out day and night, as described in Psalm 88:1-2.
O Lord, God of my salvation, at night, when I cry out before you. Let my prayer (intercession, supplication, hymn) come before you; incline (stretch out, extend, spread out, bend) your ear ( uncover, reveal, and give divine revelation) to my cry (a shrill sound, joy, or grief, gladness, proclamation, rejoicing) properly.
It is our responsibility and duty to make it a daily practice to meditate on God's Word regardless of our emotional state, and always keep in mind that the one true God and His angels surround us. Have a wonderful day until God’s next appointed time!
