There is always a reason for feeling bad. It may be emotional or it may be related to your overall physical health but it is never because you somehow contracted unhappiness or depression, as if it were a “bug” going around. If you visit a psychiatrist because of unhappiness, you will leave the office with nothing more than a prescription for a psychiatric drug. Once you take the drug, you can expect it to cause you further mental and/or physical complications, which will be “treated” with another psychiatric drug—all because the original cause of your troubles was never addressed. This is what happened to Kristine. Hear her tell her story and find out how to avoid a mis-diagnosis in this week's show.
