Absolutely not. What is life and death, however, is the current state of our country and the generations of systematic and institutionalized oppression of and discrimination towards people of color, specifically Black Americans, upon which it was built. Change is not only needed, but imperative. To create a society in which all are truly granted equal rights and opportunities takes empathy, understanding, and a desire for action and accountability.
