I struggle at mad times like these. It seems that many of us do.

As Paul Jarvis wrote in his Sunday Dispatches this week: "There’s lots of talk about what we can do, or how we can fix it as well. Smarter (much smarter) people than I understand politics and social change better than I do. So I’ll leave that to them and give what I can to their efforts."

In many ways I fear writing or speaking or creating anything just incase I get it wrong and invite loathing. But I want to be a positive voice. I want to encourage the peacemakers, and the positive change seekers. To reassure the world of some kind of hope even during such seemingly mad times. That's about all I can do.

Sometimes all you can see is cloud. It's worth remembering that the only reason we can actually see the cloud is because there is light behind it.

This week's episode of the podcast is a bit different. It's essentially my raw reflections on what is going on right now and the role I see gentle rebellion playing in it all. After I watched Trump's inauguration last weekend and the many various responses to it I felt compelled to do one thing. The only thing I know how to do at times like these...I opened my laptop and started to write.

I was consumed with one major question: what on earth is going on, and how can we respond to it?
