We often say that Christianity is a relationship, not a religion. But what does that really mean? In the context of this world, religion is often based on a set of rules. So, a religion might say you ought to do this, or that, in order to be accepted, forgiven, or granted salvation. A relationship is different; a relationship does not require perfect actions. Instead, it requires an authentic heart. Our efforts to do right are based on love and gratitude rather than self-interest.
Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” In other words, nobody can get to Heaven unless they are in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you haven’t opened your heart to Jesus, I invite you to do so with me now. Pray this prayer.Heavenly Father, I love You. I believe in You. Forgive me for all of that garbage in my life. I’m so sorry. Thank you for paying the price when You died on the cross. I receive You now. Fill me with Your Spirit. And thank You for heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Amen! I rejoice with you; and remember Christianity – your faith – is about a relationship with the living God. Now walk with Him in joy and you can reach your world.
