Man was created for relationship with God in the beginning. But sin changed man's relationship with God. The book of Genesis is a history of God dealing with man and trying to restore what was lost in the Garden. We also find out that God calls Abraham his friend. And to Abraham, God gives the promise that from Abraham's offspring would come the Messiah. Jesus is that promise for us today - the promise to restore the relationship lost with God.
