MD REVO on The Real Polygamy | A REVO PERSPECTIVE 

The word "polygamy" originates from the Greek "polygamos," meaning "many marriages," with "poly-" meaning "many" and "gamos" meaning "marriage". The practice itself is ancient, with biblical examples, but its prevalence grew with the rise of civilizations and large agricultural societies, where resources and social power enabled it. 

Polygamy did not originate in one place; it emerged in various forms across different human cultures and time periods, often linked to agriculture and resource accumulation, as well as societal factors such as increasing populations after wars or securing political alliances. While early human tribes may have practiced multi-male/multi-female mating systems, the most widely recorded forms of polygamy appeared with the development of civilizations, where wealth and social power allowed some men to have multiple wives. 

TODAY, polygamy has evolved into something that is ujnrighteous and distasteful in practice and in purpose. There is more concentration on "visibility" and sexual deviancy.
