"A Ri Rang" (or "Arirang") is a traditional Korean folk song that is, by many, considered Korea's unofficial national anthem. 'Arrirang' is named for one or several mountain passes in Korea, where it is told that a mythical maiden was murdered by her unrequited lover. However, this tragic story has been tamed, and has been further romanticized into one recounting, simply, a maiden who complains about her unresponsive lover.
The version here, to which I remixed and added instrumentation, was recorded by The Chung Sisters in the late 1960s. It is from a extremely rare vinyl LP entitled "Traditional Folk Songs."
