There is no law as blessed and committed to life as the Law of God, for it is a law that rejects wickedness, embraces righteousness and promotes life that comes through the blessed union of God with men. The Sabbath principle that goes beyond the Seventh Day, now the First, is one that proclaims God's generosity, His good-natured love for His people, and His continued call to delight in what is good. The principles of liberty, of release, of joy are to be woven into the society of men whose hope is the Lord. The Sabbath Year proclaims the release from various forms of bondage that sin brings, which means that the Sabbath is ultimately about pointing to and delighting in Christ Jesus, our Liberator.
