Recently a pastor said, “If you let Him, God will scatter you”. What he went on to explain is that God will use you in a variety of ways and places if you are open to His plan. In other words, He will scatter your time, your resources, and your energy.
Often, we try to control our lives by putting limits on ourselves. We don’t want to come across too bold, so we limit how often and with whom we share the Good News Gospel. We don’t want to face financial struggles, so we skip tithing. We don’t want to feel uncomfortable, so we stay inside our own circle. The world out there is sometimes violent so we stay close to home. But God doesn’t work like this. In fact, when we let God have full control of our lives, we see that He often spreads us thin, and uses us in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Just read the biographies of missionaries and you will get a glimpse of what God can do.
The Bible says in Mark 16:15, “(Jesus) said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News Gospel to all creation.” This week, ask yourself, “Whom can I share the Good News with?” Where does my life need to be more scattered for Jesus? This is Luis Palau.
