Welcome to Episode 4 of A Seat At The Table with Spare Ribs Club!
In this podcast series, creator of Spare Ribs Club Alex Holker talks to guests about their dream feminist dinner party. From their 3 feminist guests, the 3 tunes that will be on repeat all evening, and the 3 courses being served, this podcast brings together conversations around feminism, female friendship and food.
In this episode, Alex talks to full-time life model and part-time clown Meg Foster. Meg is a fat and queer model who started modelling during the first lockdown down on Zoom. She now models all over London and runs her own life drawing classes in Crouch End. She also models for Spare Ribs life drawing events.
We discuss Meg's dream feminist dinner party, starting with an eclectic guest list; revered saint Mary Magdalene, singer Cass Elliot and artist Jenny Saville. Against a backdrop of Mitski and The Mamas and The Papas, Meg feasts on turkey dinosaur parm and taiyaki with her guests. We also discuss her experience of being a queer fat woman in the life drawing world, and her relationship with body positivity and body confidence.
