In this episode, Alex talks to Nell Carter, a self-described lifelong foodie, who started reviewing high-street Christmas sandwiches in 2018 for a bit of fun. She has since dedicated herself to becoming a fully-fledged sarnie queen. In December, she quit her job and turned the quarter-life crisis into a sandwich delivery service. Since then, she’s been running a sandwich series on social media and travelling.

We discuss Nell's dream feminist dinner party, starting with a guest list of fictional and real-life icons; food writer Felicity Cloake, THE Bridget Jones and screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Set in Italy at golden hour against a soundtrack of Florence and the Machine, Moulin Rouge and Fleetwood Mac, Nell and her guests start with 'bits and dips' (a range of dips and modes of dipping), followed by bottomless tacos and margaritas, and finish with lemon pudding. We discuss Nell's recent career change, and the reframing of feeling like a failure in your twenties.
