The Word of God transforms the hearer by convicting their conscience. We all stand condemned before our Holy and righteous God. So as the Word of God was preached by the apostle Peter the power of the Holy Spirit moved among those who heard it and they experienced great conviction as the Word pierced their heart, filled their minds, and calmed their emotions.
