During EMS World Expo 2023 in New Orleans, keynote presenters Drs. B. Woods Curry and Jason McMullan of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine presented “A Shock Heard Round the World: Important Lessons for EMS Providers in the Wake of the Damar Hamlin Resuscitation” to thousands of attendees. The presenters described lessons learned from the high-profile response to an NFL player’s collapse on the field during a Monday Night Football game.

Mike McCabe caught up to Drs. Curry and McMullan later in the day to get their thoughts on the conference, the reaction to their keynote address, and the messages they hoped to convey to their audience.
