When you need confirmation, do you ask God for a sign - a confirmation - that shows you chose the path correctly?  God will not be put in a corner to answer our demands.  He expects obedience when He issues the call.  But God is also gracious to show a fearful child that they heard correctly.  That's a sign, not a demand.
