This is a spotlight on the Scriptures Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. Psalms 1:1-2
Everyone wants to be blessed, but for many people, being blessed means to having stuff. Yet you can have an abundance of stuff and be miserable. So biblical speaking being blessed simply means the God-given capacity to experience, his goodness and favor in your life.
Notice the blessed man does not hang out with people who will influence him toward sin and away from God. The blessed man,
The blessed man doesn't listen to ungodly advice. Jesus never relied on His own judgment but followed God's will. He told His disciples He acted according to His Father's will. We should listen to good advice but avoid ungodly counsel and walk by faith.
But the ungodly are those who leave God out, living as if He doesn't exist. Many people live like this today, not praying, thanking God, or acknowledging Him.
Jesus told a story about a man had a demon inside him, but when the demon left, the man cleaned up his life. He thought he was doing fine, but the demon still had control over him. The demon came back with seven other demons, and the man's condition became worse than before.
Many people think cleaning up their lives is enough, but true delight comes from the law of the Lord. Reading and studying God's Word brings joy, not dullness. Happiness comes from finding joy in God's word.
Today's suffering and broken lives result from breaking God's laws. His commandments aren't a burden, and being saved by grace doesn't mean living lawlessly. We can't meet God's perfection, so we come to Him by faith. After that, we should live by the Spirit, showing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Meditating on God's Word means thinking deeply about it, like a cow chewing cud. We should keep revisiting the Word until it shapes our lives. God has no plan for our growth apart from His Word. True growth comes from meditating on it day and night, making it a part of our lives. This is the way of the happy person. This is a spotlight on the Scriptures
