Make room for episode 81 of "The Reel-ists Podcast", as all members (including producer Ruben) give you their takes on the highly anticipated film "A Star Is Born". Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper struck gold as rising pop star Ally and seasoned musician Jackson. The chemistry was definitely felt by Donnie, Oscar and Ruben, not just in the romance but in the music as well. However, this film did have some downfalls to it that did not go unnoticed. Oscar felt that the pacing of the film was slower than expected. Ruben expressed that the film gave you many milestones in both the characters lives, but didn't accurately depict how they got there. Donnie expected the movie to explore a more tumultuous journey, and admitted that the "drama" was lacking. However, these reasons do not deter them from embracing the film for all the great things it got right. Kudos to Bradley Cooper on his directorial debut!
