Born just 2.5 miles away in Steventon, Jane Austen regularly came to the village to do her shopping, send letters and visit friends and family. Now the present day residents have created three fantastic trails to showcase the village and surrounding countryside they love which Jane Austen knew so well. “A stroll with Jane” is a Switched-on Multimedia Production. The Overton Jane Austen Trails project was funded through Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Pride in Place, which is backed by the UK government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
