This week we are in Luke 10, when Jesus sends out the 72 ahead of him. We discuss the concept of our calling, and how we often mistake our calling for our assignments. Both are important, but one should flow out of an understanding of the other. 

Can we become so busy doing good things, even things for Jesus, that we forget to spend time with Jesus?

In this message from Luke 10:38–42, Pastor Tanner explores the story of Mary and Martha and the danger of allowing responsibilities, ministry, school, work, and relationships to crowd Jesus out of our lives. Martha’s service wasn’t sinful, but her distraction eventually produced anxiety, comparison, criticism, and resentment.

Jesus invites us to choose what is better: to sit at His feet, listen to His voice, and allow everything we do for Him to flow from time spent with Him.

Big Idea: Our work for Jesus must flow from our time with Jesus.
