Author, speaker, social entrepreneur, certified nature-based human development guide by the Animas Valley Institute. Wild Village is an organization dedicated to building community and the cultivation of "elders" who lead cultural renewal. 

 

Dan is an author, speaker, leadership developer, and passionate about nature-based soul work in cultivating community.  He is an explorer at heart having traveled to 35 different countries, and continues to explore pan-cultural rites of passage and practices  that cultivate human healing and wholeness.    Academically, Dan has studied at The University of Washington, Fuller Theological Seminary, The University of Edinburgh (New College), and Princeton Theological Seminary.  He has done doctoral work at the University of Kansas School of Education, and post-doctoral work in the wisdom tradition of Christianity with Fr. Richard Rohr at the Center for Action and Contemplation.  He completed a vision quest in 2014, and Men's Rite of Passage (MROP) in 2015, and the MROP initiator program in 2016.  He is an ordained pastor in the PC(USA) and the author of “Being Here: Mindfulness and the Practice of Presence."  Currently he is completing his certification as a nature-based human development guide with the Animas Valley Institute.  Dan is also a fly fishing instructor and loves making hand-crafted bamboo fly rods.

Dan Dolquist has spent the last twenty-five years pastoring, leading  and  cultivating  organizations in spiritual growth and development. In addition to graduate degrees from Fuller and Princeton Seminaries, Dan did graduate work in Biblical Studies at the University of Edinburgh (New College).  His doctoral work was in the area of leadership at the University of Kansas and cultivating imagination at Fuller Theological Seminary.  His post-doctoral work was in the wisdom tradition of Christianity with Fr. Richard Rohr at the Center for Action and Contemplation. Dan completed a vision quest with the Animas Valley Institute in 2013 and a Men’s Rite of Passage in 2014.  He is the author of the 2014 book, “Being Here: Mindfulness and the Practice of Presence." Dan is also completing his certification as a nature-based professional human development guide (A Ph.DG?) with the Animas Valley Institute.
