A Teacher’s Approach To Self-Publishing Her Message with Mel Studer

Listen Later

Mel Studer brings her experience from 10 years in the elementary classroom, 9 years in the preschool classroom, and now 2 years in middle school to everything she does. Her book College Bound gives parents approachable ways to talk to their teens about tough situations. Each age has its own challenges, but the teen years take the cake. She encourages you to stay in conversation with your teen. They may not want you, but they don’t know that you are exactly what they need.

Parenting High Schoolers focuses on parenting through the teen years into adulthood. Mel shares articles  about taking care of yourself as a mom and ideas for being a better friend, mother, and partner. In addition, PHS has a resource page that highlights some of her favorite books, websites, other parenting blogs, recipes, and printables! You can follow Mel on Facebook, YouTube,  Pinterest, Twitter, and Instagram.

Mel’s Tips:

  1. Don’t be scared to put yourself out there.
  2. Write if you have an idea even if you never publish.
  3. Reach out to a mentor.
  4. Work on it a little each day.
