A young Englishman in Paris who, after a night of gambling at a shady establishment, wins an unusually large sum of money. Elated but wary, he’s persuaded by an oddly charming old soldier to stay the night at the gambling house. The room he’s given seems ordinary—until he notices something strange about the bed.
