Ostrolenk speaks with Retired SGT. Jonathan Lubecky, a disabled Combat Veteran who served in Iraq from 2005-2006 and as a US Marine from 1995-1999. SGT. Lubecky suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) after a mortar impacted near him in Iraq in early 2006, and developed PTSD that exasperated the effects of his TBI. Although attesting that the US Army’s recognition and treatment of TBI and PTSD has improved over the past decade, SGT. Lubecky struggled to find adequate treatment. After five unsuccessful attempts to take his own lift, SGT. Lubecky discovered a clinical trial in MDMA, which led to significant benefits and healing. SGT. Lubecky details his experience in psychedelic psychotherapy and the ways in which he believes it could shift the mental health paradigm.
