So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic."

The Word the Lord has given me comes from Isaiah chapter 28 verse 16 and it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.”
"We are to build on His lead for a sure foundation." The Lord spoke these words because He was angry with the leaders of Ephraim and Judah. Disgusted with the priests’ and prophets’ drunkenness and no one to lead the people, the Lord begins to speak of a stone or the one to come. A tested and precious cornerstone. That cornerstone is Jesus. We are to build on His lead for a sure foundation.
When buying the house, one of the most important parts of the house is the foundation. If the foundation is not right, your house will not stand correctly. This was not any cornerstone, it was a cornerstone that was tested and found worthy. A guarantee that whoever would rely on Him will never be stricken with panic because Jesus is faithful and He is in control of every circumstance.
"Jesus is the only foundation we can build our lives on because we can trust Him." Not too long ago, my family decided to move a wood rack from one side of the yard to another place in the yard. This was about a quart of wood that had to be taken off the rack, moved to the other side of the yard, and then restack the wood. The place we wanted to relocate the rack was pretty soft ground once it was raked out. My husband told my son to build a foundation for the rack so the rack wouldn't sink into the ground. Kyle worked very hard. Just as he was finishing, I told him the foundation looked good so let's start stacking the wood. Kyle told me he wanted to get a level to make sure that he set his foundation correctly. In my haste to get the project done, I told him it looked pretty straight and began to stack the wood. We were almost finished when Kyle sneezed. Using the rack to brace himself, he accidentally knocked the entire wood rack over. He did not have a firm foundation and although it looked like a firm foundation, and we were able to stack so much wood on the rack, one little storm in the form of a sneeze came and everything fell.
Jesus is the only foundation we can build our lives on because we can trust Him. As I think about that wood rack, I can see in my life plenty of times I did not build on the Lord and the storms came, and everything that I was building on fell. I see those places I tried to rush, never checking the foundation to make sure it was the Lord and not me and what it costs me, my family, and the people around me.
God sent His Son Jesus to lead us. As a Christian, we follow Jesus. Our children are meant to follow us, as well as the people around us.
Thank You Lord for Your amazing Word. Thank You that it's filled with Your promises, Your truth and Your love. Thank You that You have not just given us Your Word but Your Spirit to lead us in the way that we should go. Lord, I pray that we would constantly check that we are moving with You. I pray that we would not begin to build on our own but that we would stand firm in You and when the trials come, that we would still be standing because the One who has been tested is holding us up.
