There is wide diversity of opinion about what baptism means and how it ought to be done. The literal meaning of the word baptism in the Bible is "immersion." Baptism is a command of God following a profession of faith in Christ for salvation, and it is to be a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
