The poem depicts the condition of a tiger in the concrete cell of a zoo. The poem can be divided into three parts. In the first stanza the poet shows the helplessness of the tiger in the cage of a zoo. In the second and the third stanzas the poet tries to reveal the tiger in his natural habitat of a jungle. In the last two stanzas again the poet takes the reader to the cage of the zoo. The tiger is alone, behind bars there.
