The Minnesota Vikings defense could be in for a HUGE 2026 season, and Tyler Forness has four bold predictions for Brian Flores' unit. The Vikings already finished in the top five defensively last season and ranked second against the pass. Now Tyler believes the defense could take another step forward thanks to improved personnel, a developing pass rush and a secondary capable of creating more opportunities for Brian Flores' pressure packages. The first bold prediction is that Elijah Williams will lead the Vikings' interior defensive line in sacks. Williams has become one of Tyler's favorite players on the Minnesota roster, and after consistently putting together strong practices, Tyler believes Williams can make the most of his opportunities even if he isn't playing starter-level snap counts. With Caleb Banks still developing and Williams capable of playing both the three-technique and five-technique positions, there should be opportunities for him to generate pressure. The second prediction is one Vikings fans have been waiting for: Dallas Turner is going to break out. Turner was drafted as a raw prospect, but his combination of explosiveness, power, length and athleticism gives him an extremely high ceiling. Tyler explains why Turner's development as a pass rusher has him ready to take another major step in 2026. Turner has the ability to bend the arc, use his 34.5-inch arms to create leverage and win with multiple pass-rush moves. Tyler believes this could be the season where Turner finally puts all of those traits together. Then comes the biggest prediction of the video. The Vikings will record 60 sacks. Minnesota has produced 49 sacks in each of the past two seasons, meaning 60 would represent a significant jump. Tyler believes the improved secondary could play a major role because better coverage gives Brian Flores' pressure packages more time to reach the quarterback. Finally, Tyler predicts that Minnesota will finish the season with a turnover margin of at least plus-eight. The Vikings have had some bad luck with interceptions, including multiple opportunities last season where tipped passes fell just out of their defenders' reach. With Harrison Smith back, an improved secondary, better linebacker play and more pressure up front, Tyler believes the turnovers could start falling Minnesota's way. It's finally game week, and Tyler Forness has three bold predictions for the Minnesota Vikings heading into the 2026 NFL season. How bold are we talking? Kyler Murray makes the Pro Bowl. The Vikings finish with a top-five offense. And Jordan Addison finally reaches 1,000 receiving yards. Tyler breaks down why each of these predictions could actually happen. The first prediction is Kyler Murray making the Pro Bowl. It might sound crazy considering Murray is entering a new situation in Minnesota, but the Vikings have the type of offensive infrastructure that could allow him to thrive quickly. Minnesota has Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson and an offensive line that has continued to improve, while Kevin O'Connell has already shown that he can help quarterbacks produce at a high level. Tyler also explains why Murray's ability outside the pocket could be particularly important. Murray has historically been much more efficient when operating outside the pocket, and Minnesota could potentially incorporate more movement and off-platform opportunities into its offense. The second bold prediction is even bigger: the Vikings finish with a top-five offense. Kevin O'Connell has produced top-10 finishes in yards and points, but Minnesota has not yet reached the top-five level under O'Connell. Tyler believes that could change in 2026, especially with the addition of Frank Smith and an emphasis on improving the running game. A more effective run game, better offensive line play, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Kyler Murray could give Minnesota the ingredients for one of the NFL's most productive offenses. Finally, Tyler predicts Jordan Addison reaches 1,000 receiving yards. Addison has already posted 875 and 915 receiving-yard seasons despite dealing with a three-game suspension last season and inconsistent quarterback play. With Kyler Murray now leading the offense and Jefferson drawing significant attention from opposing defenses, Addison should have plenty of opportunities to make plays.
