The Minnesota Vikings are just days away from setting their initial 53-man roster, and the preseason finale against the Denver Broncos will be the final opportunity for several players to make their case. Tyler Forness breaks down five Vikings players and position battles to watch before Minnesota makes its final roster decisions. The preseason finale will not feature Justin Jefferson, Dallas Turner, Kyler Murray or many of Minnesota's top players. Instead, this game is about the players fighting for roster spots, practice squad opportunities and chances to earn opportunities elsewhere in the NFL. The first player to watch is quarterback Max Brosmer. Brosmer was one of Minnesota's better training camp stories last year after joining the team as an undrafted free agent, but his two starts came in difficult circumstances. Now entering the preseason finale as the Vikings' fourth quarterback, Brosmer needs to show he can continue developing within Kevin O'Connell's offense and prove he can be a reliable developmental option. The running back battle between Zavier Scott and rookie Demond Claiborne is another important storyline. Scott has already shown flashes, including his touchdown catch against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, but his path to the roster depends on the details. Special teams value and pass protection could ultimately determine whether he earns another spot on Minnesota's roster. At wide receiver, Dillon Bell and Dontae Fleming are competing for a potential sixth receiver spot.
