2 Chronicles chapter 7 and verse 14 begins with these astounding words, God says, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray.”

Prayerlessness sits on the foundation of pride. The person or the church that doesn’t pray declares to God that His strength and guidance are no longer needed. The prayerless person sets out on a path that he cannot see. He boasts of a strength he doesn’t have, to accomplish a task that is clearly beyond his own ability. In the spiritual realm, you could say, he looks like a toddler setting out to build a city. That’s why game-changing prayer always begins with humility. It’s the man, it’s the woman who says, “God without you I can do nothing, but with you all things are possible.”
