On 9 December 2009 former film colleagues and collaborators paid tribute to the life and career of master cinematographer, Douglas Slocombe.

This BAFTA tribute honours multi-BAFTA Award-winning Douglas Slocombe OBE BSC, one of international cinema's most prolific and accomplished DOPs (The L-Shaped Room, The Italian Job, Jesus Christ Superstar, the Indiana Jones trilogy). Contributors to this event include Vanessa Redgrave, Sir Tim Rice, Angela Allen and Sir Sydney Samuelson, and was hosted by Matthew Sweet.
