Nicolas Roeg accepts the Academy's Special Award for his Outstanding Creative Contribution to Cinema.

On the 27 March 2009, Nic Roeg accepted the Academy’s Special Award - presented for Outstanding Creative Contribution to Cinema - from Jenny Agutter, Danny Boyle and Luc Roeg. A host of extraordinary filmmakers also paid tribute to the man many cite as their career inspiration and cinematic hero (in order of appearance: Kevin MacDonal, James Marsh, Stephen Frears, Richard T Kelly and Danny Boyle).
