The Sparrows have an unexpected guest turn up at their door, after Ron has been kicked out by Stella. While at first angry with her new lodger, Yvonne warms to having Ron around after finding out what Stella is getting up to behind Ron’s back. Gary has major worries about Ron and Yvonne’s friendship, as Ron starts threatening to reveal all of Gary’s secrets to Yvonne. Back in 1942, Phoebe’s cousins, Peter and Sally, come back to London amidst some rather wintery weather.

Ron is still suffering with his marriage woes, despite putting in the effort to rectify the issues. Gary tries to offer Ron some advice, seeing as he is an expert in maintaining two relationships… advice which makes things worse for Ron. Things aren’t as rosy as Gary thinks when it comes to his relationships, finding out that Yvonne has a secret life herself, and that Phoebe is sick of only being used for a bit of ‘how’s your father’.

Things get even worse for Ron on the marriage front, and he needs Gary more than ever before. Self-centred Gary would rather accuse Ron of being a jealous friend, as it seems some forged banknotes back in the 40’s, have Gary at the centre of a counterfeit money scam. Gary accuses Ron of printing shoddy fakes, just because Gary has two successful relationships, and Ron has none. Gary figures out the truth though, and it seems as if there is a spy amongst the punters of the Royal Oak, and it’s down to Gary and Reg to find out who it is

October 11, 20241995 Christmas Special - Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea
With Ducketts Plaza fully built, Gary wastes no time at all in securing one of the units to set up his World War ll memorabilia shop. Gary must choose a unit wisely though, as he needs to ensure that he is able to access 1941 via the back yard, as he hasn’t seen Phoebe for quite some time. Yvonne is depressed after being made redundant, and feels even worse when an estate agent takes a liking to Gary. Back in the 1940’s, Pearl Harbor is about to happen, although Gary is worried that without a little help from himself, things may not work out as they are supposed to.
