KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • I joined the army at 16 and left at 26 and did four months of odd jobs before I started my own business, an IT company, where I started out building computers but progressive to working with corporates as a consultant. Over the years I’ve had a number of businesses and partnerships from property to mediation to motorcycle and vehicle repair. Some have been profitable, and others have been money pits, but it means I’ve done the hard learning, I know what it’s like to get a repossession letter.
  • About three years ago I had a bit of a burn out, I stopped exercising and began seeing a therapist who said I was good at talking and suggested I should become a life coach. SO I researched life coaching, more for my own benefit than anything else, but I realised that I could actually do it and so I started helping a couple of people I knew. During covid a lot of my other businesses halted overnight, and I concentrated on the coaching. Then, I spoke to a friend who was coming out of the military who wanted to start up a business and I talked him through the process.
  • When we’re an employee we’re paid what our employers think we’re worth. There will always be a cap on it because they want to make money out of us. One of the things about freedom is you need time and money. A lot of people look at money as being a bad thing, but it’s a facilitator, and time is the most valuable resource we have in the world, we can never get it back. Wealthy people are not people who are financially rich, they’re people who have time to do what they want to do when they want to do it. They set their alarm clock not because they have to but because they want to.
  • There are no quick fixes in life, if there were I’d be a billionaire! It all depends on the individual. We’re all individuals and for that we are graced. We all have the ability to do whatever we want in life. I took my law degree at 42, my masters at 47, I’ve learned to fly, paraglide, dive, all these things I learned in later life or re-learned how to do. You can too, you have to ask questions of yourself to unlock the blocks.

BEST MOMENTS
‘Work for yourself not somebody else, make yourself rich.’
‘Having one source of income can be dodgy because you never know when you’re going to lose that source.’
‘I’m passionate about helping other people, I enjoy talking, I’m also a good listener which is what’s helped me when working with other people to make changes in their lives that are drastic enough for them to live a limitless life.’
‘Time plus money equals freedom.’

ABOUT THE HOST

Gavin Scott is a born entrepreneur with a passion for start up and scale up. He has over 20 years real estate experience in investment and development.

Gavin says: Over the years I have discovered that mindset is everything. Now, that might sound obvious, but it is! You see the number of awoken minds are very few in reality. Whilst acknowledging mindset is key it is absolutely different from utilising, influencing, impacting and effecting great change, for yourself, your loved ones, friends, colleagues and the wider public.

Why?

Like most of us I have had many ups and downs. I want to share the lessons learnt and promote a better environment for all, internally and externally!

How?

Through sharing my own experiences and hosting some fabulous individuals including some big household names to discuss key topics around mindset and the success formulas I hope the listener will become inspired to create space for change for betterment in their lives. I aim to inspire change by encouragement, not by force. I intend to inspire by education, not by regulation.
