This is a rebroadcast of a historic speech presented to commemorate the first year anniversary of the passing of General G. Baker II, born September 6, 1941— passing away on May 18, 2014.

General G. Baker II was an internationally known and respected revolutionary, labour and community leader. He fought to organize the demands of the exploited into a vision. He fought to organize the fighters around that vision. He fought for a movement guided by the vision of a new world of peace and freedom.

His vision was of the working class reaching out to take each others hand, to come together arm-in-arm, to march shoulder-to shoulder, regardless of our sex, age, and shades of our skin, to ignore all those who attempt to divide us; to combine with all who side with their class; and to pursue our own class interest.

What the ruling class, fears most is General Baker’s vision guiding the movement of the exploited: the fight for an economic system that meets the needs of the people.
