The firing of the Noon Gun is a tradition in Cape Town. 

It is fired every day at exactly 12h00.

This was a recording from Dudley Malgas's last firing of the gun after 39 years. 

The canons are situated in the high-lying areas of Bo-Kaap and are iconic - and especially loud - in the area.
