Jonah 1:1-3

Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me." But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.

When God speaks He gives direction

Jonah chose his way over God’s way

Jonah’s disobedience led him away from the presence of the Lord

God calls us to walk in obedience for our blessing

Luke 11:27-28

As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, "Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!" But he said, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"

Big Idea:

When you live what you know, the next step takes care of itself.
