We let our resentments and grievances build up in relationships. We don't tell our partner we're still upset with them over what they did last week (or sometimes 12 years ago), and this causes the relationship to decay and, in many cases, beyond repair. A good way to avoid this is for us to talk with our partners on a weekly basis to look at the relationship, clear the deck of grievances, and find ways in the upcoming week to make the relationship better, more loving, more considerate, more passionate, whatever the relationship might need to heal and flourish.
