First in this episode, I chat to the audience about my intentions in posting this talk by Wisconsin liberal, Gar Alperovitz, and how it is relevant to the union struggles in Wisconsin as well as the social process activism embedded in this show. I explain some of my half-formed connections between the notion of social process work and, for lack of better term, revolutionary struggles and protests and why I think such demonstrations should be among the last resorts of citizens. I then read briefly from The Syntopicon of the Great Books of Western Civilization, specifically excerpts from the chapter on CITIZEN.

Gar Alperovitz gave this talk to the E. F. Schumacher Society in March of 2010 and it is available freely at the Internet Archive so I'll spare you the long/odd website link.
