Luke 23:26-27; 32-34
I. Father, forgive them.
II. We need forgiveness.
III. God’s grace is a gift.
“For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for
the ungodly. Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person –
though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to
die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners
Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:6-8
IV. Jesus modeled forgiveness.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
Matthew 5:7
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Matthew 5:44
Forgive us for our sins as we forgive those who have sinned against us.
Matthew 6:12
If you forgive others their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
