AALP 177 – Money Breakthrough with Jim Mondry

Listen Later

Today is the second episode in a series about Money Breakthroughs — my intention was to show you what happens behind the scenes when I help entrepreneurs move through their money blocks.

This session introduces you to Jim Mondry who is a coach and apple orchard farmer.  Jim is part of my Infinite Abundance program and he volunteered to come on the show to explore what prevents him from having the financial success he knows he is ready to experience.

When I asked Jim to share about what happened in our time together, here is what he shared…

“Tell all the truth but tell it slant —

Success in Circuit lies

Too bright for our infirm Delight

The Truth’s superb surprise

As Lightning to the Children eased

With explanation kind

The Truth must dazzle gradually

Or every man be blind” —  Emily Dickinson

In this call with Leisa, we talked about my least favourite subject, money. You may not immediately recognize money as the focus of the conversation, because we came at it slant. “Money” as a topic is something that scares most of us. We feel it as this power force in our lives, a thing to enable us, or a barrier to keep us out. But what’s even more important isn’t how we see money, but the stories that have been created in our minds that shape our perception of money. It’s these stories that we need to uncover, heal and evolve.

As someone who’s worked with many coaches, and as a coach myself, I’m very conscious of the stories that create my awareness. That said, Leisa offered a new insight that no one else has ever helped me name: I don’t trust myself. As I write this, I want to laugh because it sounds so simple, but, I realize that there’s power in the stories that we try to unconsciously turn away from.

Leisa has many practices to help us uncover and heal our limiting beliefs and stories, and she demonstrates some of this in our call. These practices are good, and she wields them expertly, even if the client is somewhat resistant (as I was). Her unique gift isn’t the knowledge of these practices, it’s her intuitive ability to see deeper and hear what’s underneath these stories and name it. That gift is the difference between a competent coach and a transformative coach. She will leave you spinning a little, but if you learn to harness that energy, you will be able to see she’s just inviting you to dance.

***************

When the Sufi poet whirled, was he looking

outward, to the mountains so solidly there

in a white-capped ring, or was he looking

to the center of everything: the seed, the egg, the idea

that was also there,

beautiful as a thumb

curved and touching the finger, tenderly,

little love-ring,

as he whirled,

oh jug of breath,

in the garden of dust?
