Aaron Fitt is one of the most knowledgable people regarding the world of college baseball. The former college baseball reporter for Baseball America, he is now a national writer and editor at D1Baseball.com. Fitt covers the entire Division I level and has his finger on the pulse of what’s happening at the top level of the college game. In this podcast, Fitt reveals the stories he will pay particular attention to at the start of the 2017 season, including how the TCU Horned Frogs handle being a unanimous number one selection in all of the national polls. With the college game starting once again in the middle of winter, this year on February 17th, Fitt discusses how he would like to see college baseball move to the spring and summer months in order to increase the sport’s popularity and give Northern-based schools a more level playing field. Fitt also talks in-depth about the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Southeastern Conference and the talent found at most of those league’s schools. He also reveals his sleeper team for the 2017 campaign (no spoiler alert here!) and discusses other programs that may be on the cusp of following in the footsteps of Coastal Coastal, which broke through the glass ceiling and not only reached Omaha last year but won the College World Series. With the college baseball season on the verge of starting, Fitt gives fans an incredible preview of what to expect and who to keep an eye on as the schedule unfolds.
