Juilliard trained trombonist and performance artist, Abbie Conant, was principal trombone of the Royal Opera House in Turin, Italy from 1979-80 and solo trombone in the Munich Philharmonic 1980 to 1993. Her experiences as a woman trombonist comprise the final chapter of Malcom Gladwell’s popular book Blink, which was on the NYT Bestseller list for 18 weeks.

Brian Hysong joins WMHT as host of The Musicians Lounge, interviewing friends from the Symphony Orchestra Community far and wide. He was a full scholarship student at Juilliard and was Bass Clarinetist of the NYC Ballet Orchestra for more than three decades. He also performed  with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony under Lorin Maazel, Mariss Jansons, Michael Tilson Thomas and John Williams, among others, and was also invited to Marlboro as a performing Artist
