• Ryan's response is to overcompensate.

There's a difference between critiquing the things you do, and critiquing the person doing them.

Limiting beliefs can contain hidden gifts:

• Abby speaks impeccably and accessibly because of how much time she's spent caring about how well spoken she is.
• Ryan's actually pretty smart because of all the overcompensating he did to keep from ever being caught looking stupid.
