Abide - Don’t Strive

Listen Later

As we enter a new year filled with pressure to do more and be better, Jesus offers something different than a list of demands. In John 15, he invites his disciples to remain in him like branches connected to a vine. This agricultural imagery emphasizes patience and organic growth over industrial efficiency and forced results. Instead of striving and performing, Jesus calls us to active dependence and staying close to him. When we feel spiritually exhausted or dry, these are warning lights inviting us back to the source rather than reasons for shame. True spiritual fruitfulness comes not from forcing outcomes but from maintaining our connection to Christ through all seasons of life.
